Welcome to Dr. Phil's Workshop on Strategic Planning: Berryville School District Goals 2020

I am designing this wiki to help us work through the process of establishing a vision, mission, and guiding principles for the Berryville School District. This wiki will allow us to collaborate with our stakeholders and share our thoughts on how we can create a district (school system) "on the edge of possibility".  Over the last 14 years, I have worked in several districts and schools to establish vision, mission and core beliefs (guiding principles). One thing I have learned from these experiences is that the future is not predetermined, and as long as we don't violate any of the known laws of the universe, we can create what we want our school district and individual schools to look like. The task in front of us will be challenging, the face of education...the traditional classroom is obsolete. Yet, we continue to work harder within the same system. Consider the following statement: The current task for schools is to prepare students for jobs that don't yet exist, using technologies that haven't been invented, to solve problems that we don't even know are problems yet. How do we do that? What changes need to be made to the current system? The videos below may give us some insight.

Below are resources that provide information and research to help us on our journey. There will be additional pages specifically dedicated to establishing a vision statement, a mission statement, and establishing a set of guiding principles. As I complete them in the coming days, you can use the navigation bar to the right to go to additional pages, just click on the appropriate page.
